Dear Beloved Members of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Onireke,
As we enter the sacred season of Lent, I am filled with a sense of joy and anticipation for the spiritual journey that lies ahead of us. In the heart of this season, our faith community at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Onireke, has a unique opportunity to come together in prayer, reflection, and renewal through the practice of a Lenten retreat.
Rooted in the rich traditions of our Roman Catholic faith, the Lenten retreat holds profound significance for our spiritual growth and transformation. It is a time when we are called to emulate the example of Jesus Christ, drawing closer to God through the pillars of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving.
Fasting, as we know, is more than abstaining from food; it is a discipline of the body and spirit, a voluntary sacrifice that opens our hearts to receive the grace of God more fully. Through intensified prayer, we deepen our relationship with the Divine, seeking His guidance and strength to discern His will in our lives.
