Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok is received in a private audience at the Vatican by Pope Francis.

Pope Francis received Tamás Sulyok, President of the Republic of Hungary, in audience on Thursday April 25.
According to a statement from the Holy See Press Office, Mr. Sulyok then met with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.
During the cordial meeting at the Secretariat of State, the good bilateral relations between the Holy See and Hungary were discussed and the appreciation for the commitment of the Catholic Church to the development of Hungarian society was expressed.
The communiqué also indicates that certain issues of common interest were then examined, with particular reference to families, young people and attention to the most vulnerable Christian communities in the world.
The conflict in Ukraine was then discussed, with particular reference to its humanitarian consequences and efforts to promote peace.
