#BeHuman event for a global pact on fraternity
The May 10-11 event will bring together 30 Nobel laureates and figures from international organizations for a dialogue on peace, with children meeting Pope Francis on Saturday.

A “Peace Table” brings together those who have contributed to building peace in our recent history by opposing the manipulation of the truth by power, by fighting against the proliferation of devices such as antipersonnel mines, by fighting for the rights of indigenous peoples, women and others; and another round table with children meeting Pope Francis to convey hope to a world that has not yet learned to live in fraternity.
These will be the two highlights of the second World Meeting on Human Fraternity (WMHF), which will take place on May 10 and 11 under the title #BeHuman.
Looking for alternatives to war and poverty
The event, organized by the Fratelli Tutti Foundationincludes 12 thematic panels scheduled at various locations across Rome and Vatican City State (all open to the public and some streamed live), which will address several topics including environment and business, sports and the non-profit sector, information and work, health and digital, education, local administrations, food security, all with a concern for human fraternity.
30 Nobel Peace Prize laureates will dialogue with scientists, economists, doctors, managers, workers, sports champions and ordinary citizens from around the world, to jointly seek “alternatives to wars and poverty and “ understand where the principle of fraternity is already present in society.” life and discern the parameters necessary to measure it.
Pope Francis joins children's round table
The highlight of the second day will be the participation of Pope Francis in the round table “Children: Future Generation” with Pope Francis at 5 p.m. Rome time, which can be followed by live streaming from our portal.
The opening event, also broadcast live on Vatican News, will see the presence of Cardinal Pietro Parolin with a speech at the peace table, surrounded by senior representatives of the main international organizations and some Nobel laureates, including Dmitrji Muratov, Jody Williams, Tawakkol. Karman, Maria Ressa, Leymah Gbowee, Rigoberta Menchù Tum and Muhammad Yunus. All will be received in audience by Pope Francis on Saturday morning, then they will go to the Quirinale for a meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
Musical notes for peace
The two-day meeting will conclude with an event under the portico of St. Peter's Basilica featuring composer Giovanni Allevi, Italian singer Roberto Vecchioni and American country icon Garth Brooks. The event will close on Saturday at 9:30 p.m., with St. Peter's Basilica as the backdrop.
