Vatican publishes Pope Francis’ schedule for Trieste

The Holy See Press Office has published the program of Pope Francis' pastoral visit to Trieste, northern Italy, on the occasion of the 50th Social Week of Italian Catholics.

After making pastoral visits to Venice, Verona and his imminent stop in Bari next week to address the G7, Pope Francis will make his final pastoral trip on July 7, when he visits Trieste in the northeast from Italy.

The itinerary of the Holy Father's one-day visit to the border town with Slovenia was published Thursday by the Holy See Press Room.

The Pope is visiting on the occasion of the 50th Social Week of Italian Catholics.

According to the program, Pope Francis will leave the Vatican heliport at 6:30 a.m. and land in Trieste at 8:00 a.m., before meeting congress participants at 8:30 a.m. at the Generali Congress Palace, where he will deliver a speech.

At the end of the speech, while the congress participants will be transferred to Piazza Unità d'Italia, the Holy Father will meet separately with several groups, including ecumenical representatives, academia, as well as migrants and the disabled.

At 10 a.m., the Pope will leave the Generali Congress Center in an open car, before heading to Piazza Unità d'Italia for the Eucharistic concelebration.

At 12:30 p.m., Pope Francis will bid farewell to Trieste and is expected to land at the Vatican heliport around 2 p.m.
