Archbishop Gallagher begins five-day visit to the Philippines

The Vatican Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, began a five-day visit to the Philippines on Monday, where he will participate in the annual celebration of “Pope's Day”, marking the feast of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, at the Apostolic Nunciature of Manila.

The visit to the Southeast Asian country will run until July 5.

According to the Terza Loggia account of the Secretariat of State on the social platform “X”, during his stay, Archbishop Gallagher will participate in several meetings and events.

On Tuesday, July 2, he will pay a courtesy call on Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., followed by a meeting with Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo.

On July 3, the Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations will travel to Malaybalay in the Northern Mindanao region to participate in the plenary session of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). The next day, he will celebrate mass with the bishops at the Transfiguration Abbey in Malaybalay.

Finally, on Friday, July 5, Archbishop Gallagher will participate in a conference at the Foreign Service Institute in Manila, affiliated with the Department of Foreign Affairs.
