On Saturday, August 31, at the age of 96, Ada Miotti Parolin, mother of Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, died. “She fell asleep peacefully in the Lord,” read the statement from her children, who expressed their “sadness but their faith in Jesus Christ crucified and risen.” The statement also mentions the names of Mariarosa and Giovanni, as well as those of their spouses, children, grandchildren and all the relatives who remember the words of the Lord in the obituary: “I am the resurrection and the life,” and this life is changed, it is not over.
Condolences and closeness in prayer of Pope Francis
The funeral will take place on Tuesday, September 3 at 9:30 a.m. in the parish church of Schiavon, located in the province and diocese of Vicenza, Italy. “After the funeral,” the statement continues, “dear Ada will rest in the cemetery of Schiavon.”
On Monday, September 2nd at 7:30 pm, a prayer vigil will be held, again in the church of Schiavon. The family thanks all those who were “affectionately close to dear Ada” and those who will attend the funeral, asking “not for flowers but for good works.”
