Pope Francis received David Choquehuanca Céspedes, vice-president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, in audience on Friday, November 29, at the Apostolic Palace.
According to a press release from the Holy See Press Office, Choquehuanca Céspedes then met with the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations .
“During the cordial talks at the Secretariat of State, the good relations between the Holy See, Bolivia and the local Church were highlighted, with particular emphasis on the contribution of the Church to Bolivian society,” the statement said, adding that “the conversation also touched on various aspects of the political and socio-economic situation in the country.
